Sushchinsky Petr Petrovich

Definition: Russian geologist and mineralogist, professor, keeper of the mineralogical cabinet of the Imperial St. Petersburg University.

Genus. 07/22/1975 in a noble family. Graduate of St. Petersburg University (1897). Member of field expeditions. In 1917 he was elected rector of the Don Polytechnic Institute in Novocherkassk and worked in this position in 1917-1918, 1922-1924, 1926-1928. He was the director of the Research Institute of Applied Sciences at the institute. In 1927-1930 - chairman of the North Caucasus branch of Geolkom. Arrested in January 1931. Through Butyrka he gets to the island. Vaygach. Released in 1937. After liberation he returned to Novocherkassk. Arrested again on July 4, 1937, together with his wife. Convicted by a visiting session of the Supreme Court of the USSR Armed Forces under Art. 58-1a, 58-7, 58-8 and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to the VMN. The sentence was carried out on December 14, 1937. Rehabilitated by the prosecutor's office of the Rostov region on 06/07/2000.
