Genus. in 1862 in the village. Volma, Vyatka district, Vyatka province. In 1888 he graduated from the Kazan Theological Academy. From 1904 - Bishop of Murom, from 1907 - Bishop of Yuryev, from 1912 - Bishop of Vologda and Totemsky. Arrested in 1923 on charges of “in connection with monasticism and agitation”, sentenced to six months of forced labor in a concentration camp. Until 1927 he was in exile. Since 1928 - Archbishop of Samara. Arrested 07/05/1933. Sentenced by a Special Meeting at the OGPU Collegium on October 25, 1933 under Art. 58-10, 11 to 3 years in a concentration camp. On 10/29/1933 the sentence was replaced by 3 goals of exile. Since 1935 - Archbishop of Pugachevsky. Arrested 11/30/1937. Sentenced to VMN on December 21, 1937. Shot on January 14, 1938. In the case of 1933, he was rehabilitated by the Kuibyshev Regional Court on July 14, 1988.
