Tregubov Nikolai Ivanovich was born on April 7, 1912 in the city of Stavropol. In 1935 he graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School, class of teachers V. I. Ponomarev and V. A. Semenov.
In 1935-1936 he worked as a soloist at the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater. S. M. Kirov (Mariinsky Theatre), in 1937-1940 - at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater (National Opera of Ukraine).
From 1940 to 1941 he was choreographer of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater. He staged the plays “The Red Poppy” by R. Glier, “Don Quixote”, “Peer Gynt” by the composer Grieg based on the play of the same name by the Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen. In 1948-1958 he worked as the chief choreographer of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater, in 1958-1970 - as the chief choreographer of the Odessa Theater. He collaborated with the famous choreographer Evgeny Vigilev. He was imprisoned together with S.E. Radlov. Ballet master of the camp theater "Jazz". (1946-1948?)
