Genus. in 1891 in St. Petersburg. Member of the RSDLP (b) since 1907. From 29.4 (12.5) - 26.7 (8.8).1917 – member of the Central Committee of the RSDLP (b). From August 5 to September 26, 1918 – acting. chairman, from August 15 - chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Gubernia Executive Committee. From August 10 to September 19, 1918 - Chairman of the Military Revolutionary Committee in Nizhny Novgorod. In September 1918, the Central Committee of the RCP(b) was recalled. From December 1918 – 1919 - Chairman of the Saratov Provincial Executive Committee. In 1919-1920 - head of the political department of the 13th and 14th armies of the Southern Front. In March 1921, among other delegates of the X Congress of the RCP (b), he took part in the suppression of the Kronstadt rebellion. Since 1921 in trade union and government work. Member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. In 1927 he was in the Trotskyist opposition. In 1927, by the XV Congress of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), he was expelled from the party as an active figure in the Trotskyist opposition, in 1928 he was reinstated in the party, worked as deputy chairman of the Metal Syndicate, then headed the All-Union Cartographic Trust. In 1934 he was expelled again. Arrested on December 16, 1934. In January 1935, the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR sentenced him to 10 years as one of the leaders of the so-called “Moscow Center”. Arrested 09/04/1936. Sentenced by the Supreme Commander of the USSR Armed Forces on 10/05/1936, accused of counter-revolutionary terrorist activities. Shot on October 5, 1936. Burial place - Moscow, Donskoye Cemetery. Rehabilitated on March 28, 1959 by the Military Commissariat of the USSR Armed Forces.
