Born in 1891 in St. Petersburg; Russian; basic education; 6th-category fitter-patternmaker; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in 1907-1934. Active participant in the February Revolution, deputy of the Petrograd Soviet of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies, and from April 1917 - member of the Central Committee of the RSDLP (Bolsheviks). During the Civil War, he worked in party and Soviet work in Nizhny Novgorod and Saratov, and was head of the political department of the 13th and 14th armies of the Southern Front. In March 1921, along with other delegates to the 10th Congress of the RCP (Bolsheviks), he took part in the suppression of the Kronstadt rebellion. From 1921 onwards, he worked in trade unions and government work. Member of the All-Union Central Executive Committee. In 1927, he was expelled from the party by the 15th Congress of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks).   As an active member of the Trotskyist opposition, he was reinstated in 1928. He served as deputy chairman of the Metal Syndicate, then headed the All-Union Cartographic Trust. In 1934, he was expelled again. Arrested on December 16, 1934. Sentenced on January 15-16, 1935, by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR to 10 years in a labor camp as one of the leaders of the Moscow Center. Arrested on September 4, 1936. Sentenced on October 5, 1936.   The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was sentenced to capital punishment on charges of counterrevolutionary terrorist activity. He was executed on October 5, 1936. Burial place: Moscow, Donskoye Cemetery. He was rehabilitated by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on March 28, 1959, based on the 1936 sentence, and on July 7, 1965, based on the 1935 sentence.
