While imprisoned at the Far Eastern Conservatory in the city of Svobodny, he worked at the Central Aircraft Repair Plant as an engineer. While imprisoned in the Svobodny factory camp, he met Yu. N. Weinert, with whom he began the famous poetic cycle “The Evil Songs of Guillaume du Ventre.” The cycle was completed after the liberation of Charon (Yu. N. Weinert died in 1951 in exile in Severo-Yeniseisk). Released in 1947. Arrested on February 23, 1949 in the Sverdlovsk region. Sentenced on February 23, 1949 by the USSR Ministry of State Security under Art. 58-10 part 1, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for settlement. Exiled to the village. Aban. At the Abani school he taught music and led a dance group. He was employed as a stoker and lived at the school. Released from exile on September 28, 1954. He taught at VGIK.
