Shmelev Nikolay Petrovich

Definition: Soviet and Russian economist, candidate of economic sciences (1961), doctor of economic sciences (1969), professor (1977), corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1994), academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (05/26/2000; section of international relations), director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1999-2014), academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences and Entrepreneurship and the Academy of Management. He went down in history as the first academician in the USSR - a critic of the economy of developed socialism.
