Genus. in 1893 in the village of Agu-Bedia, Abkhazia, into a noble family. In 1913-1916 he studied at the Faculty of Law of Moscow University. Member of the CPSU(b) since 1914. In 1917-1918. - Chairman of the Sukhumi District Party Committee, Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of Abkhazia, participant in the civil war. Since 1919 - at underground work in Menshevik Georgia, arrested, then released. Since 1921 - Chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of Abkhazia, Central Executive Committee of the Abkhaz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, 3rd Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Georgia. Member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. In 1927, he was expelled from the party for belonging to the Trotskyists; in 1929, after admitting a mistake, he was reinstated. He worked in the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade and the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry. Arrested in March 1936 in Moscow. Convicted by the Troika. Exiled to Kolyma, Partizan mine. Died in custody approximately in 1939. Rehabilitated in 1956.
