Genus. in 1889 in the village of Pomi, Penza province; Russian; in 1903-1905 he studied at the Penza Theological School, in 1905-1906 - at the Penza Theological Seminary, in 1913-1915 - at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists in St. Petersburg-Petrograd. In 1919–1921 he lived in Tomsk, was one of the organizers of the Art Department of the Tomsk Local History Museum. He died in 1937 and was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
