Genus. 10/05/1877 in Kharkov; Russian; since 1895 - social democrat; in 1906-1919 - a member of the RSDLP (m); writer. In 1920 he was arrested in the case of the Don Committee for counter-revolutionary speeches against the Bolsheviks; released. Arrested again in 1924; administratively sentenced to exile for 3 years in Sverdlovsk; in 1926, thanks to the efforts of writers, the case was reviewed and released ahead of schedule. In 1938 he lived in Rostov-on-Don. Arrested 02/14/1938; sentenced by the OSO under the NKVD of the USSR on 12/29/1939 under Art. 58-8, 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for 8 years of labor camp; he was imprisoned in particular in Ivdellag (Sverdlovsk region), spent 17 years in camps; he was released at the end of 1946, reinstated as a Soviet writer, but only in 1955 was a collection of his works released. From the mid-1950s he lived in the city of Mineralnye Vody. Rehabilitated by the Rostov Regional Court on January 18, 1958. Died 11/18/1976.
