Born in 1894 in Valmiera district, Livonia province, Latvian. Since 1917, Latvian rifleman, member of the RSDLP, commissar of the 18th Latvian regiment, then commissar of the 4th division, then in an illegal position. Came to the USSR in 1923, graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk provincial party school, director of the Red Profintern plant in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1927-1928 he worked at the metallurgical plant named after. Dzerzhinsky in Dneprodzerzhinsk. He graduated from the Industrial Academy in Moscow and was appointed director of the Makeevka Metallurgical Plant. Since 1933 he was the head of Nikopolstroy, since 1937 he was the director of the Nikopol South Pipe Metallurgical Plant. Arrested on 01/09/1938 on charges of espionage and creating a sabotage organization at YuTMZ. Sentenced on March 31, 1938 to VMN. Shot on the same day in Dnepropetrovsk. (DKP-1, p.372-374)
