Bukanova Maria Ivanovna
Born in Leningrad on February 2, 1923. Before the war, she lived in the town of Pushkino, Leningrad Region. In 1942 she was arrested by the Gestapo on suspicion of helping partisans. Under investigation in Luga prison. Sentenced to imprisonment in a concentration camp. She was in work camps in Riga, Austria, then in southern Germany. She worked repairing roads and removing rubble. Liberated by French troops in April 1945. In June 1945 taken to the Soviet occupation zone. In 1945–1946 - waitress in the Soviet officers' canteen, translator in the Soviet military commandant's office in Hart near Leipzig. In 1946 she returned to Leningrad. She worked as an appraiser in a pawn shop. Arrested in Leningrad on January 29, 1948, on charges of espionage. Under investigation in an internal MGB prison. According to the resolution of the OSO MGB dated August 31, 1948 under Art. 58-1a sentenced to 5 years in a camp. While imprisoned in Potma (Dubravlag), she worked in peat mining and uprooting stumps. Released on January 29, 1953, she lived in Rustavi (Georgia). Since 1955 in Leningrad. Accountant.
