Shapiro David Alexandrovich
Born November 4, 1919 (October 22, 1919 old style) in Kiev. Lived with his grandmother in the city of Surazh, Gomel province, when on August 17 (21), 1921 his mother was arrested and sentenced to 2 years of exile. His father managed to escape abroad. In 1924, after his mother was released, he lived with her and his stepfather, an exiled anarchist. In 1927, his stepfather was exiled to Minusinsk, and his family went with him. In 1936, he graduated from school No. 2 in Minusinsk, In June 1941 - the Physics Department of Leningrad State University, specializing in molecular physics. He did not go to the front due to poor eyesight. In 1941-1944 he worked as a senior technician in the logging base of the state union geophysical trust. Then he was sent to the Grozny logging base as the head of the dynamographic party. In 1951 - chief geologist of the Bugulma STC in Tataria. From 1954 to 1967 - chief geologist of the Almetyevsk STC. In 1957 he defended his candidate's dissertation, and in 1973 - his doctoral dissertation. Author of the monograph "Physicochemical phenomena in rocks and their application in oil field geophysics", 1977. Since 1971 he has worked in the Tatneftegeofizika trust. Retired in 1981. Died in 1997.
