Genus. in 1887 in St. Petersburg in the family of an official. Singer and musician. During the First World War, he worked as an orderly in Petrograd hospitals and participated in charity concerts for the wounded. He graduated from the Singing Chapel (1908) and the Conservatory (1924). Church choir director, choral singing teacher. Since 1920 he has been a member of the Mariinsky Theater choir. The first wife is Polovtseva Ksenia Anatolyevna, the second wife is Vasilyeva Maria Petrovna. Member of the Petrograd Religious and Philosophical Society “Wolfila”. In the 1920s he was arrested several times and escaped arrest once. Arrested on 12/11/1928 on charges of belonging to the religious and philosophical circle “Resurrection”, sentenced by the OGPU Board on 06/22/1929 to 3 years in a concentration camp. During the envoy to the Solovetsky Islands, he died on December 7, 1929 at the Kemsky transit point (Popov Island) from typhus. Rehabilitated by the Leningrad City Court on November 15, 1960.
