Commissar of Communications under Commander-in-Chief Trotsky during the Civil War. Arrested in 1935, sentenced to 3 years in labor camp. Instead of being released in 1937, he was exiled to Aktarsk, Saratov region. Arrested again and sentenced to 5 years in prison. In custody in the Inta ITL. In 1942, at the end of his term, he was not released. Released in 1953
