Genus. 07.10.1902 in Kyiv. In 1922-1923 Studied at the Kiev Higher Institute of People. education. Moved to Petrograd. Got married. Graduated from the Faculty of History of Pedagogics. Institute named after A.I. Herzen in Leningrad (1926). Since 1934, she studied at the graduate school of LIFLI (historical department), from which she was expelled in January 1935 after her husband was re-arrested. In 1930–1935 worked as a teacher of general history at the Leningrad Higher School of Trade Union Movement (LVSHPD). Worked in the archive-library of Leningrad State University. She worked part-time as a translator and language teacher. At the end of 1935 she was exiled with two children to Novgorod. She taught history at the Novgorod Pedagogical Institute. Unofficially, I came with my son to visit my parents in Leningrad. Arrested following a denunciation. I urgently returned to Novgorod. 04/02/1936 - search and arrest in Novgorod. Sending children to Leningrad. railway NKVD. The children were handed over to V.'s parents; she was sent to prison on Shpalernaya. Sentenced to 5 years in ITL (c/r Trotskyist activity). Transferred to Arkhangelsk. She worked in a logging camp. Transferred to Naryanmar. In the OLP “Sivaya Mask” of Ukhtpechlag (Inta region of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic), she worked in logging, part-time as a medical worker. In the spring of 1939 she was transferred to Kochmes (Vorkutlag), where she worked in a construction brigade, then as a nurse in a nursery. Released in 1940, in 1941-1944. - in exile in Vologda. In 1944–1949 — taught in ped. Institute in Rostov-on-Don. Writing a dissertation. 08/28/1949 arrested together with her husband, sentenced to eternal exile, from 07/01/1950 - to Nizh. Imbatsk, Turukhansk region. In 1954 they were rehabilitated. Until 1964 they lived in Rostov-on-Don, then in Leningrad.Author of four books of memoirs, including “In the Footsteps of the Fate of My Generation,” published in 1991 (posthumously). V. died on December 28, 1990. She was buried in the Northern Cemetery of St. Petersburg.
