Volin (Eikhenbaum) Vsevolod Mikhailovich

Genus. in 1882 in the Smolensk province in the family of a zemstvo doctor; Jew; higher education: graduated from St. Petersburg University in 1906; since 1904 member of the AKP. Participated in "Bloody Sunday"; in 1907, for participation in expropriation, he was sentenced to eternal settlement in Siberia; on the way to exile, he escaped and emigrated (1908). Lived in Paris, collaborating in the central publications of the AKP. In 1911 he joined a group of anarchists; During the Civil War, he participated in the Nabat COU, collaborated with N. Makhno. Arrested by the Bolsheviks in 1920, released by agreement of the Soviet government with N. Makhno; arrested for the second time in Kharkov on November 25, 1920; released by the Profintern congress in September 1921, after which on 01/05/1922 he was sentenced to deportation from the country. He lived in Berlin, where he translated into German and provided a preface to “The History of the Makhnovist Movement” by P. Arshinov, then in Paris, where he took part in work on the anarchist encyclopedia. Died of tuberculosis in Paris in 1945.
