Publishing worker. Until 1917, he participated in the publishing enterprises of V.D. Bonch-Bruevich, I.P. Ladyzhnikov, and M. Gorky. In 1922 he organized a cooperative in Petrograd. publishing house "Vremya" (under the brand name "Publishing artel, artel of workers in science, literature, book graphics and publishing"), contributed the main capital necessary to start work, united prominent scientists, translators, poets, artists around the publishing house. (including A.E. Fersman, S.F. Oldenburg, G.A. Duperron, M.L. Lozinsky, M.A. Kuzmin, E.S. Kots, Yu.P. Skaldin, etc.). In 1922–1931 was the chairman of the board of the publishing house, without receiving state. subsidies, managed to establish a publishing translation of works by Western European writers (including the collected works of R. Rolland and S. Zweig), and also published the popular science series “Entertaining Science” (initiated and edited by Ya.I. Perelman). Involved in the group case of the monarchist organization "National Union of Struggle for the Revival of Free Russia" (1930). In 1934, the publishing house, along with other cooperative enterprises, was liquidated.
