Genus. 02/14/1903 in Peterhof, in the family of a sergeant of a horse-grenadier regiment; graduated from Leningrad State University. He worked in the Administration of Peterhof Palaces and Museums and in the State Russian Museum. From 1939 to 1941 - researcher at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Arrested on July 13, 1941. Sentenced 08/02/1941   VT of the NKVD troops of the USSR Leningrad District under Article 58-10, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in labor camp. Released in July 1943. Drafted into the Red Army, seriously wounded, lost an arm, demobilized. In the spring of 1945 he was sent to work at the Pushkin Nature Reserve, where he worked until 1989. Rehabilitated on September 8, 1992. Died 08/02/1993.
