005: Lifanov. Lifanov Petr Lifanovich (1905-1942). Personal file of a prisoner
Red Army soldier of the 457th separate rifle battalion. He was arrested on September 12, 1941 on suspicion of crimes under Article 58-1, paragraph "b" of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. During the evacuation of Leningrad prisons after September 30, 1941, he was taken by the Leningrad stage to Prison No. 3 of the NKVD NSO (Tomsk) with further detention at the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR. He died in the prison hospital on August 31, 1942, the cause of death was pellagra.
The file was discovered by chance, in the damp basement of SIZO-1, about 80 years after it was established. The file is in a deplorable state, the pages are eaten away by fungus and falling apart. The museum staff attempted to dry the documents and make copies.

A native of the village of Zaborovye, Bezhanitsky District, Kalinin Region, Russian, no military registration, citizen of the USSR, illiterate, married, from the workers. Lived in the village of Dachnoye, Krasnoselsky District, Leningrad Region. A Red Army soldier of the 457th separate rifle battalion. He was arrested on September 12, 1941 on suspicion of crimes under Article 58-1, paragraph "b" of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.
During the evacuation of Leningrad prisons after September 30, 1941, he was taken by the Leningrad stage to Prison No. 3 of the NKVD NSO (Tomsk) with further detention at the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR.
Sentenced on August 19, 1942 by the OS of the NKVD of the USSR under Article 58, paragraph 10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years of imprisonment.
He died in a prison hospital on August 31, 1942, the cause of death being pellagra. He was rehabilitated on December 28, 1964.

that LIFANOV P. A. is suspected of crimes under Art. 58-1, paragraph "b" of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR and taking into account that Lifanov Petr Afanasyevich, being at large, may hide from the investigation and trial, guided by Art. 158 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR
RESOLVED:
The measure of suppression of the methods of evading investigation and trial of LIFANOV Petr Afanasyevich shall be detention in custody, about which, in accordance with Article 146 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, the arrested person shall be declared under a receipt in this resolution.
In accordance with Article 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RSFSR, a copy of the order shall be sent to the Prosecutor and transferred to the head of the prison for inclusion in the prison’s personal file.

Report of external examination of the corpse On August 31, 1942, based on order No. 0457 and the order of the head of prison No. 3, State Security Lieutenant Comrade BOZHOK, I, military doctor of the 2nd division Sat???, carried out an external examination of the corpse of Petr Lifanovich Lifanov, born in 1905, who died in the hospital. He arrived in the Leningrad stage and had been in prison since September 13, 1941.
The corpse is male, of average height, right build, severely undernourished. Rigor mortis has set in. The mouth is closed, the tongue is clenched. The eyes are closed. The corneas are transparent, the pupils are dilated. No traces of injury were found on the neck. The chest is cylindrical in shape with sharply defined intercostal spaces. The abdomen is drawn in, ... in shape, the integuments on it are pale. The bones of the skeleton are intact. The genitals are normal. The openings of the mouth, nose and anus are free of foreign objects. No violent injuries were found on the corpse. Based on the above and case history No. 1057/48, ....
pellagra (persistent diarrhea accompanied by signs of decline in cardiac activity.
