Livshits Benedikt Konstantinovich
Born 25.12.1886 [06.01.1887] in Odessa. Lived in: Leningrad, Baskov Lane, Bldg. 19, Apt. 6. Arrested 25.10.1937, charged under Articles 58-8 and 58-11 "for participating in an anti-Soviet right-Trotskyist terrorist and sabotage-subversive organization." Sentenced to capital punishment on 20.09.1938. Shot on 21.09.1938 in connection with the Leningrad "writers' case" along with writers and poets Yuri Yurkun, S. M. Dagayev, Valentin Stenich and V. A. Sorgenfrey. After the sentence was carried out, the relatives of the accused were informed of their expulsion to "ten years of imprisonment in distant camps without the right to correspondence." Rehabilitated on 24.10.1957.
On December 25, 2016, a personal memorial sign was installed on house No. 19 on Baskov Lane in St. Petersburg in memory of B.K. Livshits as part of the Last Address project.
