Genus. in 1914 at the station. Cheerful Podol of Poltava province. Studied at the Kharkov Art Institute (1933-1935). In 1934 he joined the Union of Artists in Kharkov. In 1940 he was drafted into the army, in the fall of 1941 he was wounded and ended up in occupied territory. Arrested in February 1943. By resolution of the OS under the NKVD of the USSR, he was sentenced to 5 years in labor camp. He served his sentence in Vorkutlag. In prison, first in general work (logging), then as an assistant to the camp doctor. He made sketches of camp life. Since 1949, he was in a special settlement in the Arkhangelsk region. Lived in Solvychegodsk, then in Kotlas. He worked as the chief artist of the Kotlas Drama Theater. In 1950 in Arkhangelsk he re-joined the Union of Artists. In 1953 he moved to Moscow illegally. Rehabilitated in 1957. In 1961, he joined the Union of Artists for the third time - the Moscow branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists. Died in Moscow in 1985.
