Political prisoner. Chairman of the Kyiv Society of Political Prisoners and Victims of Repression
Genus. in 1949 in the village. Ivanovka (Ukrainian SSR, Kiev region, Stavishchensky district); Ukrainian; secondary specialized education (military-political); member of the CPSU; ship equipment installer, Art. lieutenant, company commander of military unit 73723. Lived in Zagorsk, Moscow region. Arrested on August 6, 1984 for anti-Soviet propaganda and distribution of anti-Soviet literature. Sentenced by VT Moskovsky on February 15, 1985 under Art. 70 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for 4 years of penal colony. He served his sentence in Mordovia and Perm camps. By decree of the PVS of the USSR dated June 18, 1987, the remaining term was reduced by half. Released on January 12, 1988. Rehabilitated 03/05/1992. Main Military Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. During the putsch of the State Emergency Committee in August 1991, he was the chief of staff of the defense of the White House in Moscow, where there was a hotbed of supporters of democratic forces. In independent Ukraine, he worked as assistant to the chairman of the Council for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, chairman of the Board of the Association “For Interethnic Peace and Harmony in Ukraine.” From 1994 until his death - Chairman of the Kyiv Society of Political Prisoners and Victims of Repression. Every year from 2007 to 2013 he headed the Ukrainian delegation at the Days of Remembrance in Sandormokh and Solovki. Died in Kyiv on September 16, 2017.
