Born in 1937 in Leningrad. Student at Leningrad State University. Lived in Leningrad. Arrested on June 20, 1957 for participation in the underground group “Union of Communists.” Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on September 19, 1957 under Art. 58-10 part 1, 58-11 for 6 years in labor camp. Kept in Mordovia, ZH/385/14. Released in June 1963. In 1968–1970. one of the compilers and distributors of the Chronicle of Current Events. In November 1971 he emigrated from the USSR. He worked in London for Radio Liberty and the BBC, and published in the British press. Died 05/17/1998.
