Trakhtenberg Pavel Osipovich (Iosifovich)
One of the first chief designers of the Soviet shipbuilding industry. Participated in the creation of the first Soviet-built surface ships: the Uragan-class patrol ships, the leaders of the Leningrad and Minsk-class destroyers, the experimental destroyer Sergo Ordzhonikidze.
Responsible executor of design work for leaders of Leningrad-class destroyers.
Chief designer of serial destroyers of Project 7 (Gnevny type).
Genus. in 1900 in Tbilisi, in the family of a retired mechanical engineer of the Russian Navy O.O. Trakhtenberg, a native of the Kronstadt bourgeoisie, an active state councilor who served in the Ministry of the Imperial Court. Graduated from the shipbuilding department of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, design engineer. Head of the design bureau TsKBS-1 (TsKB-17) at the Severnaya Verf plant. Arrested in Leningrad on January 17, 1937 on charges of terrorism and sabotage. Sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on 05/04/1937 to military service. Shot on 05/05/1937. Rehabilitated June 29, 1957.
