Participant in the First World War: officer in artillery units; from May 1916 - chief of staff of the 3rd Special Brigade of the Russian Expeditionary Force of General Dieterichs (in Thessaloniki, Greece). In the White movement since August 1918, he took the position of deputy head of the Military Directorate (Ministry) of the Provisional Government of the Northern Region, headed by N.N. Tchaikovsky, Arkhangelsk; from 09/06/1918 - head of this department. The successor of Captain 1st Rank Chaplin D.E. as commander of the troops of the Northern Region (“Northern Army”) and at the same time Governor-General of the Northern Region; 18.09 - 03.11.1918. He handed over command to General Marushevsky. Since November 1918 - retired. Emigrated to France. He taught mathematics, one of the founders and permanent director (1931-1961) of the Russian Gymnasium in Paris. Member of the board of the Society for the Education of Refugees from Russia since its creation (04/12/1921). In 1941 he was arrested and spent some time in the Compiegne camp. Died in Saint-Genevieve de Bois. He was buried in the Russian cemetery there.
