Zaitsev Iosif Mikhailovich
Born in 1888 in the village of Rogilevtsy, Vasilishskaya volost, Lida district, Vilnius province, into a Polish peasant family. After the death of his father, he moved with his mother to St. Petersburg, where he graduated from the city school. He worked as an electrician at the plant of engineer Greiman. After the revolution, he volunteered for the Red Army, in 1919 he joined the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), in December 1934 he was elected to the 14th convocation of the Leningrad City Council of People's Deputies, headed the executive committee of the Central District of Leningrad, and then the Leningrad Housing Administration. Lived in Leningrad (25 Oktyabrya Ave., 74-76, apt. 37). In 1936 he was suspended from work. Arrested on July 21, 1937; sentenced by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on February 17, 1938 under Art. 58-7-8-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to capital punishment; executed in Leningrad on 17.02.1938. Rehabilitated by the Military Commission of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 25.02.1956.
