Definition: Ethnographer, sinologist, Japaneseist, professor at Leningrad State University, since 1908. headed the Department of Cultural Asian Countries at the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography
Reproduction methods:
Arrested on July 25, 1937. by the NKVD in Moscow on charges of spying for Japan. Shot in October 1937.
