Born in 1913 in St. Petersburg. In 1931 she graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School, in 1938 - the pedagogical department, in 1954 - the theater studies department of GITIS. She worked at the Leningrad Maly Theater (1931-1934), the Paliashvili Theater (1934-1935), the Opera Studio of the Leningrad Conservatory (1935-1937), the Kirov Theater (1937-1953). Since the 1950s she has worked as a ballet critic.
