Kunaev Askar Minliakhmedovich
Definition: Soviet and Kazakh scientist, specialist in the field of metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and the integrated use of mineral raw materials. Deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 9-11 convocations (1974-1989) from the Kazakh SSR. Candidate member of the CPSU Central Committee in 1976-1986.
Doctor of Technical Sciences (1970), Professor (1970), Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the KazSSR (1972), Honored Scientist of the KazSSR (1977), laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR (1978, 1984) and the KazSSR (1973, 1982). Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (since 1974), academician (since 1981). President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (1974-1986).
