Genus. in 1873 in the village. Suerskoye, Yalutorovsky district, Tobolsk province; Russian; Higher education - graduated from theological academy. Since 1920 - diocesan bishop of Olonets and Petrozavodsk. Arrested on August 4, 1922, he was accused of disloyalty to Soviet power and resistance to the surrender of church valuables. On November 8, 1922, the case was closed “due to insufficient evidence collected in the case.” On December 12, 1922, at an administrative meeting of the Presidium of the Carrev Tribunal, an amnesty was applied on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the October Revolution. Having disagreed with this decision in the case, the Presidium of the Karispolkom, at the suggestion of the Karoblotdel of the GPU, on December 28, 1922, petitioned the Special Commission of the NKVD of the RSFSR to expel Lapin from the Karelian Labor Commune to Siberia. By decision of the NKVD RSFSR commission on administrative expulsions dated March 30, 1923, he was expelled to the Narym Territory for a period of 3 years under the public supervision of the State Political Directorate of the GPU. By resolution of the Special Meeting of the OGPU Collegium dated March 26, 1926, he was released from exile and lived temporarily in Tobolsk. By the conclusion of the prosecutor of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on September 6, 1990, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence of a crime.
