Lukin Nikolay Mikhailovich
Historian, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1929)
Born in 1885 in the village of Kuskovo, Spassky Volost, Moscow Province, in the family of an elementary school teacher; education: higher - historian, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the Department of Humanities since 1929; member of the RSDLP since 1904. He worked as director of the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences and editor-in-chief of the journal "Historian-Marxist". Lived in Moscow. He was arrested on August 22, 1938. Sentenced on May 26, 1939 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Articles 17-58-8 and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years in a labor camp with deprivation of political rights for 5 years and confiscation of property. He died in prison on July 19, 1940. From March 16, 1957 By the decision of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR dated May 29, 1939, the sentence against N.M. Lukin was overturned due to the absence of corpus delicti.
