Since 1920, head of the internal prison of the Cheka, commandant of house No. 11 on Bolshaya Lubyanka. In 1931, of his own free will, he became an employee for special assignments of the OGPU commandant's office. He carried out execution sentences. In 1934-1938 - head of the Lefortovo prison. Died in 1941. Cremated. The urn with ashes was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.
