She collected paintings and graphics. She studied painting and drawing from V.A. Serov and K.A. Korovin. In 1915 - 1917 - member of the board of the local ladies' committee of the Russian Red Cross Society, trustee of the Kharitonyevsky Women's Primary School in Moscow, creator and first head of the museum in the Abramtsevo estate (1918 - 1926). In 1926 she was demoted, in 1928 she was arrested and imprisoned in Butyrka prison. After a short stay in prison, Alexandra Savvishna was released with the obligation to immediately leave the Moscow region without visiting Abramtsevo. For a long time she lived with her brother Vsevolod in Polenov, Tula region.
