Andreev Sergey Yurievich

Member of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the first (1994-1998), second (1998-2002) and third (since 2002) convocations. Born in Leningrad; graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil of the Leningrad State University, postgraduate study at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, candidate of biological sciences; defended his doctoral dissertation on regional economics; worked as a senior researcher at ZapsibNIGNI (Tyumen), deputy general director of NPO "INSET" (Leningrad), director of the Institute of Baltic Problems; in 1993 he ran for the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, was not elected; 1994-1998 - Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the first convocation; in 1998 he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the second convocation (electoral district # 16), was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee, a member of the Standing Commission on Urban Economy, Urban Planning and Land Issues, co-coordinator of the Lawfulness faction; in December 2002 he was again elected to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the third convocation in the Kirov constituency # 16, became co-coordinator of the United Russia faction in the Legislative Assembly; took part in political movements and parties: "Leningrad People's Front" (1990), the Union of Labor Collectives (1991-1992); was the head of the public association of citizens "For Justice" (1992-1994); since 2000 - in the party "Unity"; author of eight books, incl. two novels and a collection of short stories; married, has a son.
