Anichkov Igor Evgenievich
Genus. in 1891 in the city of Borovichi, Novgorod province; Russian; from the nobles; Higher education: graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of St. Petersburg University, majoring in philosophy of science; b/p. Participant of the 1st World War; participant in the Civil War (first he fought against Chapaev, then against Kolchak). In 1928, he lived in Leningrad, a teacher at the Phonetic Institute at Leningrad State University, and a researcher at the Institute of Language and Language Studies at Leningrad State University; member of the "Commonwealth of 5" and "Taibalin's Circle" circles. Arrested in the case of the Brotherhood of St. Seraphim of Sarov; arrested 02/21/1928; sentenced to Kogpu on 10/08/1928 under Art. 58-11 to 5 years in a concentration camp; imprisoned in Solovki, then in the BBL; 01/31/1931 released due to illness with deportation to the Northern Territory for the remainder of his term; 03/17/1931 left for Vologda. In 1933 he was again arrested and exiled to Syktyvkar; in 1938 he returned to Leningrad, where he resumed teaching English at various universities; from 1941 to 1947 - in Arkhangelsk, head of the English language department at the Pedagogical Institute. Since 1947 he has taught at a number of Leningrad universities; in 1949 he was forced to resign due to ideological accusations of “political mistakes”; since 1949 - professor of the department of English philology at the Stavropol Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, since 1953 - again in Leningrad. In the last years of his life he devoted himself entirely to religious philosophy. Died in Leningrad on May 21, 1978; buried at Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery. Rehabilitated by the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office on February 27, 1993.
