While in a displaced persons camp in West Germany, he was “recruited by American intelligence for espionage and sabotage and terrorist activities in the Soviet Union.” In August 1951, he was parachuted into the Moldavian SSR together with F.K. Sarantsev. Arrested and sentenced to death.
