Porshnev Georgy Ivanovich
Genus. in 1888 in the village of Minina Guba, Pudozh district, Olonets province; Russian; b/p. Since 1921 he lived in Moscow. From 1923 he worked in the Trade Sector of the State Publishing House of the RSFSR to establish the book trade. Arrested 09/29/1930. Sentenced in 1931 to 10 years in labor camp. Sent for the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal named after. Stalin. He was kept in the Bear Mountain camp. Released early in 1936 . Remained a civilian employee in Bear Mountain. He worked as a bibliographer and stocked libraries. Arrested 09/27/1937. Sentenced by the troika of the NKVD of the KASSR on October 23, 1937 under Art. 58-10 to VMN. Shot on October 29, 1937 at Medvezhya Gora station (Sandormokh). Rehabilitated PVS KASSR 04.10.1984.
