Definition: Russian physicist, scientist, teacher, inventor of Russian television, author of the first experiments on television, for which the Russian Technical Society awarded him a gold medal and the K. G. Siemens Prize.

Arrested on 02/09/1931 on the basis of a warrant from the Plenipotentiary Representative of the OGPU in the Leningrad Military District on suspicion of “belonging to a k/r. organizations." On April 26, 1931, he was convicted by a visiting session of the OGPU Collegium under Art. 58011 of the Criminal Code for deportation for 3 years to the Northern Territory. He died in exile in Arkhangelsk on April 20, 1933. Rehabilitated 03/19/1990.
