Born in 1920 in Odessa. Before the war, he was a student of the ship mechanics department of the Leningrad Institute of Water Transport. He was evacuated with the institute in April 1942 to Kislovodsk and sent for practical training to the Volga Shipping Company. He worked as a ship mechanic on ships sailing to Stalingrad. He was transferred to the Gorky Institute of Water Transport, graduated in 1945, sent to work in Omsk, then transferred to Pavlodar, worked at a shipyard. From 1960 he worked in Tyumen. In 1968 he moved to Pavlodar, director of the Pavlodar Shipyard.
