Sokolovsky Alexander Lvovich
Born November 12, 1887 in Yekaterinoslav; Russian, born into a family of an employee, a nobleman. Studied at the Pavlodar gymnasium. In 1905, for participating in the revolutionary movement, he was arrested for 2 weeks. From 1910 he was a student at St. Petersburg University. In 1915 he graduated from the ensign school, served in the 110th Kama Infantry Regiment. From July 19, 1915 - second lieutenant. Awarded the Order of St. Anna, 4th class with the inscription "For Bravery", St. Stanislav, 3-1 class with swords and bow, St. Anna, 3rd class with swords and bow. In 1918 he graduated from Petrograd University. An employee in the district council, Gosstrakh, the Workers' and Peasants' Inspectorate, head of the lecture department at the Petrogubpolitprosvet. At the same time, he taught courses on the history of class struggle, revolutionary movement, etc. at the Tolmachevsky Red Army University, the Naval School, and at workers' faculties. Since 1921, at the Petrograd Polytechnic Institute: teacher at the workers' faculty and economics faculty, head of the academic department. Since 1931, he was a methodologist and assistant in the social science course at the Leningrad Medical Institute (since 1934, the metallurgy faculty of the Leningrad Research Institute). Since December 1937, he was a teacher of Russian at the general technical faculty. He was arrested on June 9, 1938. He was sentenced by the OS under the NKVD of the USSR on September 2, 1938 under Articles 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in a labor camp. He died in the camp on March 12, 1939. He was rehabilitated by the Presidium of the Leningrad City Court on May 9, 1957.
