He graduated from the workers' faculty of LETI and studied at the Physico-Mechanical Institute in Leningrad. Since 1930 he led seismic parties in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. On the eve of the arrest, a researcher at the Central Scientific Research Geological Prospecting Institute (TSNIGRI). Arrested on 02/02/1937 on charges of belonging to a “counter-revolutionary fascist organization” (geophysical branch of the “Pulkovo case”). At the visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR in Leningrad, he was sentenced to capital punishment. Shot on May 23, 1937. Rehabilitated 12/03/1957.
