Taimanov Mark Evgenievich
Definition: Soviet and Russian chess player, international grandmaster (1952), USSR champion (1956), five-time Leningrad champion (1948, 1950, 1952, 1961, 1973). Pianist.
Reproduction methods:
In 1971, at Taimanov’s customs they found a book by Solzhenitsyn, published abroad (usually chess players were not inspected). His state scholarship was reduced, they stopped sending him to tournaments abroad, and he was deprived of the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (restored to the title in 1991).
