In 1919 he joined the RKSM, then the CPSU (b). Since 1920 - at Komsomol work - instructor, secretary of the Kotelnichesky UKOM of the RKSM, in 1921 - executive secretary of the Novgorod-Volynsky UKOM of the LKSMU, secretary of the Polonsky UKOM of the LKSMU, in April 1923 - secretary of the Shepetovsky district committee. In Shepetovka he met Nikolai Ostrovsky, who worked under his supervision. In August 1925 - secretary of the Volyn Provincial Committee, then - secretary of the Zhitomir district committee of the Komsomol. In 1926 he was drafted into the Red Army, where he was discharged from political work. Deputy commander of the 26th Infantry Regiment of the Transcaucasian Military District in Leninakan, then in Akhaltsikhe, Georgian SSR. In 1936, after his brother’s arrest, he was dismissed from the ranks of the Red Army as the brother of an enemy of the people. He moved with his family to the village of Rogovskaya, Krasnodar Territory, and worked as the head of the district health department. Arrested 06/01/1938. Convicted by the decision of the troika of the NKVD of the GSSR dated 09.10.1938 to VMN. Rehabilitated by the Military Tribunal of the Transcaucasian Military District on 07/06/1956.
