Freimanis Gunars Ernestovich

Genus. on October 3, 1927 in Vainoda, Liepaja district of the Latvian SSR; Latvian; incomplete secondary education. 02/04/1946 sentenced by the Military Tribunal under Art. 58-10 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR ("participation in the partisan movement"). He served his sentence in Kolyma and Yakutia. Released on September 20, 1953 due to tests. Lived in Riga, Latvian SSR. Worked as an electrician for SMU. Arrested 03/27/1964. Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Latvian SSR on August 29, 1964 under Article 65 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Latvian SSR to 5 years in labor camp ("anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda"). He served his sentence in Dubravlaga. Released on March 27, 1969 at the end of his term. After his release he lived in Riga. He worked as a foreman of a mechanized column of the SMU. On July 30, 1976, a search took place in his Riga apartment and poetry was confiscated. Arrested 03/28/1983. Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the Latvian SSR on December 19, 1983 under Art. 65 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Latvian SSR to 4 years of labor camp and 2 years of exile. He served his sentence in the Perm camps (ITK-36). Released on 02/05/1987 by Decree of the PVS of the USSR dated 02/02/1987 on pardon. Lived in Riga. Died 1993
