Born in 1929 in Paris. Lived in Moscow. After her father's arrest in 1936 and her mother's exile and arrest in 1937, she lived with her aunt (her older sister was sent to an orphanage). In 1941, she also ended up in an orphanage in the Saratov region. In 1946, she entered the philological faculty of Leningrad State University, graduating in 1951. She married in 1954. In 1990, she moved to Israel with her family.
