Genus. in 1870 in the village of Kikino, Korablinsky volost, Ryazhsky district, Ryazan province, Russian, higher education, lived in Petrograd, Zabalkansky pr. 29, apt. 5. From 09/06/1918 to 01/04/1919 he was a hostage of the Cheka of the Union of KSO in Petrograd. Arrested on September 9, 1919 on charges of belonging to the KD party, released on September 25, 1919. In 1922, he was brought to trial and accused of campaigning against the confiscation of church valuables. He was sentenced to VMN with a change to imprisonment in a concentration camp, released in 1924. Arrested again on 09/02/1930. PP OGPU in LVO under Art. 58-II of the Criminal Code and 01/02/1931 sentenced to VMN. Shot on January 7, 1931. Canonized in 2005. By the resolution of the Presidium of the Leningrad City Court dated October 26, 1988, the criminal case was terminated on the basis of paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the RSFSR, Cheltsov M.P. rehabilitated
04/24/2016 to house No. 14 on 2nd Krasnoarmeyskaya Street in memory of M.P. Cheltsov. A personal memorial sign was installed as part of the "Last Address" project.
