Shifrin (Poltinnikova) Eleonora Isaakovna

Definition: Israeli public and political figure, chairman of the Yemin Yisrael party (en: Yamin Yisrael), translator, lecturer and journalist. From the late 1960s, she participated in the human rights movement, and since 1971 - in the Zionist movement. Together with her husband, she prepared for publication the world's first Guide to Soviet Prisons, published in Israel on the eve of the Moscow Olympics in 1980.
