Genus. 10/06/16/1881 in the city of Zhytomyr, Volyn province. He graduated from the Naval Corps (1901) and the Mine Officer Class (1905). He served in the Baltic Fleet, a participant in the 1st World War. Captain 1st rank (1917). Chief of Staff of the Baltic Fleet (since 12/17/1917), chief of the Baltic Sea Naval Forces, commander of the Baltic Fleet since 03/20/1918. In February-May 1918, he ensured the withdrawal of the ships of the Baltic Fleet from Revel and Helsingfors to Kronstadt ("Ice Campaign"), as a result, 236 ships and vessels were saved). Arrested on 05/27/1918 at a meeting of the Collegium of the People's Commissariat for Maritime Affairs in Moscow, accused of treason, by the verdict of the Revolutionary Tribunal at the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, he was shot on 06/22/1918 in the courtyard of the Alexander Military School, buried there. Rehabilitated by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet on 06/29/1995.
12/20/2015 in memory of A.M. Shchastnoy at house No. 10 on the 17th line of V.O. in St. Petersburg there was a sign of the project "Last Address".
