In 1922 he returned to Petrograd. He graduated from the Military Medical Academy (1926), worked as the head of medical institutions in Novocherkassk, Zhitomir, Moscow, Leningrad. Since July 1934 - Head of the Medical Service of the Military-Political Academy of the Red Army. Tolmacheva (Leningrad), military doctor of the 1st rank. In the summer of 1937, he was expelled from the party (accused of Trotskyist vacillations in 1927, of ties with enemies of the people and concealing ties with relatives abroad), dismissed from service. He worked as a neuropathologist in polyclinic No. 2 at the factory. Khalturin. Arrested on 12/19/1937, accused of collaborating with foreign intelligence and spying for Latvia. Sentenced by the Commission of the NKVD and the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR on January 17, 1938 Art. 58-6 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to be shot, shot on 01/22/1938 in Leningrad. The case was dismissed by the decision of the Military Tribunal of the Carpathian Military District dated September 27, 1957 due to the absence of corpus delicti, and he was rehabilitated posthumously. According to the death certificate issued in 1957, he died on August 16, 1943 from typhoid fever. The original death certificate was received on 08/08/1989.
