Genus. in 1904 in Kyiv; Russian; from the nobles; higher education, engineer. He studied at the LPI, but was expelled for “non-proletarian origin; in 1931 he graduated from the physics department of Leningrad State University. Lived in Leningrad. From April 16, 1929 he worked at the Physicotechnical Institute, in 1935 he was a senior researcher at the laboratory of I.V. Kurchatov, co-author of a number of his works. Arrested on March 29, 1935 as an ESR. The OS under the NKVD of the USSR was sentenced to exile in the city of Atbasar, Akmola region, Kazakhstan, for 5 years (according to other sources, for 10 years). In January 1936 he was in the Karaganda region, in March-April - in the village of Selikhovo, Rybinsk region, working at Volgostroy. Later he worked in Nizhny Tagil. He repeatedly asked to be allowed to work in his specialty. In 1946, on the recommendation of another repressed Physics and Technology student, V.N. Glazanov, who had just been released, he was seconded from Tagilstroy to the Obninsk Institute of Physics and Energy, which was then being created. For 2 years, as a senior researcher, he participated in the design of a cyclotron, in research on beryllium, and performed several experimental works and theoretical calculations. In 1948 he was sent a second time - to work at Volgo-Baltstroy. Returned to Obninsk in 1956. Headed the physics laboratory at the world's first nuclear power plant. Rehabilitated in the 1935 case by the Presidium of the Leningrad City Court on April 20, 1957.
